Tech | Firing the world’s first 3d printed handgun

Cody Wilson of Defense Distributed has successfully hand fired the world’s first entirely 3d printed handgun.  Obviously the implications of this development are huge.  No longer do those who desire protection have to struggle with the challenges of obtaining personal protection in this day and age.  As a citizen of the United States I realize that not all countries allow the freedoms we enjoy, and as such technological revolutions such as the Defense Distributed Liberator pistol may be a wonderful thing if used properly.

The technology also offers felons and others that may not be able to legally obtain a firearm a route to possess such weapons with ease, therefore as additional developments are made such technology may indeed be carefully regulated, however for the moment all you need is a 3d printer, some plastic, a nail for the firing pin (and a chunk of steel to embed in the pistol, to ensure it’s legality under the “undetectable firearms act”, of course)
